Analogue Stories

Shot on location. Photographed entirely on analogue film.

Created for models who want something beyond a traditional portfolio update, each session captures honest moments, natural movement and a timeless aesthetic on 35mm film.

Working with analogue film is a slower, more intentional process. It encourages a different rhythm, allowing genuine moments to unfold naturally and creating a collection of expressive portraits with a timeless editorial feel.

Professionally developed, high-resolution scanned and individually edited, your final gallery features all of the strongest images from your session in rich colour and punchy black and whites.

I photograph all of my personal work on analogue film. I love the nostalgic quality it brings, the richness of the colours and the slower, more considered pace.

Analogue Stories grew naturally from this creative process, offering models the opportunity to experience the same approach.

Frequently asked questions
Why shoot on film?

Film has a distinctive character and depth that's difficult to replicate digitally. The slower process encourages a more considered way of photographing, resulting in honest, expressive portraits with a timeless feel.

What does analogue mean?

Analogue simply means the photographs are captured on traditional photographic film rather than with a digital camera. Each roll is professionally developed, high-resolution scanned and individually edited.

How many photographs will I receive?

You'll receive a carefully curated gallery featuring all of the strongest photographs from your session, professionally edited in both colour and black and white.

Can siblings or friends be photographed together?

Absolutely. Analogue Stories are available for individuals, siblings or friends who'd like to create images together.

Where do the sessions take place?

Sessions are available in carefully chosen locations across London and Manchester.

Do these sessions take place all year round?

They can do but we keep an eye on  the weather forecast and will re-schedule any days where the forecast is heavy rain.

Is there an age range for these sessions?

No, I willphotograph all ages.  Film is a slower process and so its a calmer shoot to capture toddlers, rather than a high energy shoot but all ages can book these sessions.

What should we wear?

Once your session is booked, I'll send guidance on styling. Simple, timeless clothing with subtle textures and minimal branding photographs beautifully on film and helps create an editorial feel.

What if the weather isn't great?

Some of my favourite analogue photographs have been made on overcast days. Soft light often works beautifully on film. If the weather is unsuitable or unsafe, we'll simply rearrange your session.

Why don't you offer a fixed number of images?

Every analogue session is different. Rather than limiting you to a set number of photographs, I carefully edit the work and deliver all of the strongest images from the shoot. My focus is always on creating the best collection of photographs, not reaching a number.

What are Darkroom Editions?

Selected photographs can be handcrafted as traditional darkroom prints using the original negative, projected onto colour sensitive paper and processed to fix.   Each print is individually made by hand, making every edition unique.

What is the difference between a film scan and a darkroom print?

Darkroom prints have a beautifully organic quality, with subtle tonal transitions, depth and texture that are unique to the traditional printing process.

Film scan -

The photograph is taken on film.

The negative is then professionally developed and digitally scanned to create a high-resolution image file.

That digital file is what you receive in your online gallery. It can be viewed on a phone, shared with agencies, uploaded to Instagram or printed in the usual way.

Darkroom print -

A darkroom print starts with the same original negative, but instead of being scanned and printed by a digital printer, the negative is placed into an enlarger that projects light through it onto light-sensitive photographic paper.

The paper is then developed by hand using traditional photographic chemicals, stopped, fixed, washed and dried.

Each  print is handmade from start to finish.

Every Darkroom Edition includes an original handcrafted darkroom print, posted directly to you, plus a high-resolution digital scan of the finished print for online sharing.
